This is one sweet ’56 Chevy Bel Air with a custom built 400HP 350 V8 4-bolt main. The owner of the past 27 yrs originally bought it as an Arizona rust-free roller and had it built from the ground up. She even has the original sheet metal including the original factory sprayed undercoating. They took it down to bare metal and he wanted the brightest red they could deliver and got it! The body is straight as an arrow and the base/clear coat paint job is beautiful. Clearly cut and buffed as it has great depth. The chrome & brightwork is flawless & sitting on real OG spoke knockoff wire wheels gives it the right look.
The engine was built here in Montana and the paperwork has all the specifics of the build. MSD HEI electronic ignition with a Summit Racing double pumper 4-barrel carburetor. I just installed a new alternator, voltage regulator and the AGM battery with mounting bracket will be installed shortly. This one fires right up, doesn’t leak any fluids and just purrs. It’s mated to a 700R4 automatic transmission and cruises at 3k RPMs at 60MPH in 3rd gear and drops down to 2k RPMs in overdrive. There’s a Dutchman 12-bolt posi rear-end with 373 gears. The ceramic headers with Flow Master pipes sound throaty and just right. It has power steering and brakes with discs up front as well.
All the interior was redone in a soft red with a white headliner/visors and is in excellent condition. There is a Ron Francis wiring/fuse panel with electric 2spd intermittent wipers, gauge package, Ididit tilt steering column and even a nice sounding little cassette deck to break out those old tapes.
